Even as Paris Saint-Germain has not yet made a final decision on Mauricio Pochettino’s status at the club for next season, multiple managers in world football today have been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 giants. Among them, River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo continues to be linked with possibly taking over for Pochettino as PSG’s new manager.

From PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes’ standpoint, as he noted to Radio La Red, he has been taking notice of these such links between his club and the two-time Copa Libertadores-winning manager.

“I don’t know if it’s true or rumor about Gallardo to PSG,” Paredes said. “We still have a coach to whom we owe a lot of respect. We will see. Gallardo is a great manager.”

Gallardo has made plenty of history over his ongoing run at River Plate. As mentioned, he has guided the Argentine powerhouse to a pair of Copa Libertadores titles, which includes the triumph over Boca Juniors in the 2018 final.

The Argentine manager did sign off on an extension deal with River Plate last December, which added a mere one more year to his contract.
