Two England supporters got a little overexcited after Raheem Sterling scored against Croatia in their Euro 2020 opener.

The Three Lions’ Euro 2020 campaign got off to the best possible start with a 1-0 victory over Croatia, who are far and away the strongest opponent within the group, all due respect to Czech Republic and Scotland.

Raheem Sterling, who was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI, at the expense of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, scored the only goal of the game, sparking pandemonium across the country – which began within the confines of the stadium.

After Sterling’s effort rippled the back of the net, England fans who were lucky enough to get a ticket to got to Wembley went wild, with two of them being spotted tumbling down a banner in the lower tier.

England fans are spotted rolling down the banner at Wembley

As is written by The Sun, a fan was left in a critical condition after suffering a fall at Wembley during the Croatia game, but these two fans are merely thought to have got a little overexcited and will only have a few bruises to show for it.

Ultimately, it’s not every day that you get to see your country play in a major tournament on home turf, and considering all that’s happened over the past 18 months, they can be forgiven for losing their heads in the moment.

As for the fan in question who suffered a serious fall, we dearly hope that they make a full recovery. Nobody should end up in hospital after going to see their team play a game of football.
