AC Milan suffered their first defeat in Serie A of the season last night and it was a bitter one. The Rossoneri played on par with Fiorentina and were even better for most of the game, but wasted it all.

Mistakes at the back and squandered chances up front resulted in the 4-3 loss. Milan cannot afford to repeat such a performance if they want to fight at the top, given that Napoli now have the chance to move three points clear.

As reported by Peppe Di Stefano of Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, it would be wrong to say that Milan were poor last night. The first half was full of missed chances and the technical errors were decisive in the end.

In short, this led to the defeat and Stefano Pioli reprimanded the players in a post-match speech. It’s not something that the manager does often and that speaks volumes, but now focus must be shifted to the important game on Wednesday evening.
