Real Madrid worked on landing Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe for months. Many in the Spanish media and their supporters seemed convinced they’d acquire the 23-year-old, but now they’re looking at alternatives, including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Failing to land Mbappe and even Erling Haaland has left  Los Blancos with money reserved for the PSG star, but now will have to spend it on Plan B, which could be for the Liverpool star.

According to NBC Sports‘ Joe Prince-Wright, Salah is a name that could be heading to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to fill the void that they had reserved for the France international.

The 30-year-old has one more year left on his contract and has yet to agree on an extension with the Premier League club. Also, with the recent arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz over the last six months at Anfield, it feels as though Liverpool has made the moves to replace Sadio Mane and Salah long-term.

Now it’s about if The Reds sell Salah this summer or risk him running down his contract and leaving for free transfer next year. The report adds that Liverpool could ask for $74 million for the Egypt international.
