Pending new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will be pondering his current players in his squad right now before making some big decisions this summer.

We know that a lot of players will be sold, or at least be available on the market, as Chelsea look to trim down their squad going in to next season.

But one player who looks very certain to stay at the club this summer is Levi Colwill, despite recent noise of Brighton being keen to keep hold of the player past this season. The defender is currently on loan on the south coast and has had a very good season there.

But Chelsea are not interested in selling or loaning him again this summer and want him back in their squad, which is where he will be according to Ben Jacobs writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

Jacobs said: “Finally, just a quick word on Levi Colwill, who was excellent in Brighton’s 3-0 win at Arsenal. Roberto De Zerbi has spoken highly of the Chelsea loanee, and how he wants to keep working with him beyond this season. But Chelsea’s position is clear. Colwill won’t be sold or loaned this summer. They view him as an elite-level centre-back and integral to the project. And I understand that Pochettino feels the same way.”
