Despite securing the services of Mehdi Taremi, Inter Milan are reportedly still searching the market for another striker.

The Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with the Iran international who will join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks in the summer.

The 31-year-old will be able to sign for the Italian giants as a free agent once his contract with Porto expires in June.

But according to FcInter1908, signing Taremi on its own won’t be enough to plug the holes in the attacking department.

Therefore, the club directors are still seeking another attacking reinforcement.

While the source doesn’t offer any names at the moment, it expects candidates to emerge sooner rater than later.

Since the start of the season, Inzaghi has identified Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram as automatic starters.

On the other hand, Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic have been serving as backups. However, both veterans had their bouts with injuries this term, which took their toll on his displays on the pitch.

The Chilean in particular is facing an uncertain future.

The 35-year-old returned to the club last August after spending the previous campaign at Marseille.

However, he only signed a one-year contract, so he could be heading to the exit door at the end of the season.

On another note, Valentin Carboni should return to the club in the summer after spending the current campaign on loan at Monza.

The 19-year-old has been impressing at Raffaele Palladino’s court. So it remains to be seen if it will be enough to warrant a place in Inzaghi’s squad next term.
