Mauricio Pochettino will soon be unveiled as Chelsea’s new manager and the Argentine is expected to push for several signings.

Despite spending over £600m in the last two transfer windows, according to recent reports, US billionaire owner Todd Boehly will be asked to bring in a new midfielder, striker and goalkeeper.

Although the Blues must also offload several members of their current squad due to sheer numbers, there is already talk of which players, particularly goalkeepers, Pochettino is targeting ahead of what is going to be another enthralling summer window. Even though Chelsea have Kepa and Edouard Mendy available, neither are expected to hold onto the club’s number-one jersey next season.

And speaking about which shot-stoppers are on the club’s shortlist, journalist Ben Jacobs, who spoke to GiveMeSport, confirmed Brentford’s number one is among possible targets.

“[André] Onana is a name that Chelsea’s existing recruitment team like, for sure,” Jacobs said.

“David Raya is another one to keep an eye on; Chelsea have had a long-standing interest in him as well. And Jordan Pickford is still an interesting target to watch for both Chelsea and Tottenham.”

Despite playing a huge role for Thomas Frank, Raya is set to leave Brentford at the end of the season. After failing to agree to a new contract, the Bees are believed to want £40m in exchange for the Spaniard and already planning for their number one’s departure, Frank, according to Fabrizio Romano, is closing in on signing Mark Flekken from SC Freiburg.
