Paris Saint-Germain will likely look to bolster its midfield this summer transfer window. Several names are surfacing that the Parisians could pursue in a few months, the latest being FC Porto’s Argentinian midfielder Alan Varela.

Last summer, the capital club went to the Portuguese league for a South American midfielder, Manuel Ugarte. It appears sporting advisor Luis Campos is preparing to do that venture again in the summer.

According to Foot Mercato, Porto wants €70 million, the release clause for the player under contract until 2028. Furthermore, PSG face a few rivals for the new Javier Mascherano. The French media outlet notes that Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are keen on the player.

Boca Juniors, for its part, is rubbing its hands since Xeneize has negotiated a resale percentage. Porto wants to ensure they get the most out of this sale, considering they have to share what they receive.

It will be interesting to see if the Parisians beat out another Premier League club for a South American midfielder, as they did last year when PSG landed Ugarte after beating out Chelsea.
