Veteran Manchester City player Bernardo Silva seems poised to part ways with the Premier League side. In recent days, the Portuguese veteran has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, with the Spanish club emerging as the frontrunner in the race.

According to a recent report from Spain, Silva is eager to move to Barcelona this summer. The report also mentions that the 2023 UEFA Champions League winner feels his time at Manchester City has ended and that he has a release clause of €58 million.

However, SPORT’s Toni Juanmartí reports that the sum in Silva’s release clause might be too expensive for the Catalan side. Additionally, the journalist notes that the player is an option for the club this summer but not a priority.

It will be interesting to see if this allows for PSG to take the lead in the race. Another report notes that due to the poor relations between Qatar and Abu Dhabi, Manchester City would prefer the midfielder to join a team other than the French team.

Despite the player and his agent being acquainted with sporting advisor Luis Campos and having a working relationship, it appears that these connections aren’t sufficient to resolve the ownership issues.
