The San Jose Earthquakes acquired the rights to Alfredo Morales from New York City FC on Thursday then signed the midfielder through the 2024 season with an option for 2025.

NYCFC received a third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for the 33-year-old veteran.

Morales recorded seven assists in 73 MLS matches (52 starts) with NYCFC over the past three seasons.

He helped the club win the 2021 MLS Cup and the 2022 Campeones Cup.

"We would like to thank Alfredo for his significant contribution to the Club over the last three seasons," NYCFC sporting director David Lee said in a statement.
