Italian outlet Rai are reporting that Napoli have reached an agreement with Antonio Conte over a three-year deal to take over as head coach at the Stadio Maradona.

According to Rai Sport’s transfer specialist Ciro Venerato on Friday evening’s edition of TG Sport, Conte is now ‘ready’ to sign for Napoli.

Friday’s report detailed that there is an agreement between the two parties over a three-year deal. Economic details have reportedly also been agreed upon, although the specifics have not yet been disclosed.

Other outlets, including Calcionapoli24, suggest that the figures could be somewhere in the region of €6.5m per season.

Venerato, in his Rai report, claimed that Aurelio De Laurentiis’s final approval is all that is missing before the agreement can be made official.

Napoli, who have already had three different coaches this season in Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and now Francesco Calzona, had also been evaluating moves for either Vincenzo Italiano or Stefano Pioli, but Conte remained the first choice, even if he has made them wait.

The former Italy CT had reportedly been waiting to evaluate all the offers that have come, or might have come, his way over the last few months.

Conte background

Conte has been without a job since leaving Tottenham in explosive fashion in the second half of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Before his venture in North London, Conte had won league titles with his three most recent club sides in Inter, Chelsea and Juventus.
