Real Madrid ace Toni Kroos hailed their "belief" after reaching the Champions League semifinals.

Real are into the final four after Wednesday's shootout win at Manchester City.

Kroos said: We're always ready to dig in. It was a good performance, the tie was always wide open and we had to keep believing until the end. That's a real trait of this team. We always had faith that we could at least take it to penalties and we gave it everything we had.

Now we've got Bayern, who have beaten a great Arsenal side and they're really dangerous. They can't win the League so they're focused solely on the Champions League. Now we've got a Clsico coming up in four days' time and that's all I'm thinking about.

The Champions League is so important to this club. We love this competition and we've shown it again. I suffered during the penalty shootout, I'd rather have taken one but you always struggle more from the sidelines."

He added: We wanted to get on the ball a bit more in order to get some respite because chasing it all the time is tiring but they pressed high up and if you lose it, they'll hit you for five or six."
