Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer when his contract expires in June. Many expect the Frenchman to join Real Madrid as a free agent, but a close friend to the club president, Florentino Pérez, doesn’t see this as a done deal yet.

On Tuesday, the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) hosted the fourth edition of the Sudden Death López Farré Symposium, dedicated to Antonio López Farré, professor of medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid.

The event featured several prominent figures from medicine and sports, including Vicente del Bosque and Jerónimo Farré, a global authority in cardiology, a close friend of Florentino Pérez, and a board member of Real Madrid.

Despite all the rumors indicating that the French footballer has already decided to play for Real Madrid next season, Farré insists that only he and his inner circle know what the 25-year-old intends to do this summer.

“At any moment, Mbappé, his mother, and his father will decide what they want to decide, but it’s a decision that belongs to them,” Farré said (h/t Bernabéu Digital). “I believe that at this moment, only the player, his mother, and his father know his future. Does Florentino know? No, I don’t think so, and if he does, he hasn’t told anyone.”

Until PSG’s UEFA Champions League run ends, it’s unlikely that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner announces anything or comments about his future so as to not distract the team, who are 180 minutes away from reaching the final.
