Real Madrid have completed the signing of Noel Lopez from Deportivo La Coruna.

The 19 year old will play in the Real Madrid Castilla team in the season to come, with the prospect of moving up to the first team, or at least going out on loan to a La Liga club, after that.

Lopez is one of the standout players from the impressive Deportivo academy in recent years, and the forward played in 24 games for the first team this season, scoring four goals.

His biggest successes came with Depor’s youth team however, and he played in the team that reached the final of the Spanish youth competition, only to lose to Barcelona.

He’s also played for the Spanish U19 team and in the UEFA Youth League. Madrid and Barcelona always have their eyes on the best young domestic talent, and while they don’t all make it to the first team, it’s a well worth path to success somewhere.
