Real Madrid have been linked to both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the past. While the former has had the greater share of the rumors, Erling Haaland is also a potential target for Florentino Perez. Both have their claims to be the ‘best’ goal scorer in world football and to pick one between them offers a daunting task. While many would be confused between the two, Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin did not doubt as to his pick.

Erling Haaland has shone brilliantly under Pep Guardiola since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund. He led the team to its historic treble last season while also breaking the Premier League goal-scoring record himself. That being said, Kylian Mbappe is no different, with the Frenchman leading his side to a World Cup final, a Ligue 1 title, and a Trophee des Champions in recent seasons.

The Madrid keeper instantly picked Haaland over his counterpart, when asked to name his pick in a ‘quickfire’ session.

Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland? As a number 9, Erling Haaland.

As Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid finally nears fruition, fans are thrilled at the prospect of the Frenchman’s potential link-up with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.

Andriy Lunin and Real Madrid are set to take on Girona in La Liga on Saturday while Haaland and City face Everton to go top of the table. Both teams can ensure top spot with a win on Saturday.

Real Madrid set to face Girona in crucial La Liga match

With FC Barcelona out of the equation for now, the La Liga title hangs in the balance for one of two teams – Real Madrid and Girona. The Los Blancos are currently top of the league, with 58 points in 23 games. Carlo Ancelotti and co. have been cruising the league, with just one loss in 23 games. Girona also have just one loss to show for this season, coming from none other than Real Madrid themselves.

As the replay between the two sides is set to be played on Saturday, a win for either side would be crucial in their pursuit of the title. A win for the hosts (Real) would mean that they pull away from Girona, establishing a five-point lead at the top. However, a win for Girona will see them overtake Ancelotti and co. for the first time since Madrid went ahead.

After dropping points against Atletico Madrid, Real will aim to bounce back to winning ways. Girona are a rejuvenated side under manager Michel , beating the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla scoring at least 4 or more against each. Carlo Ancelotti has announced that both Vinicius Jr. and Antonio Rudiger will be fit to play on Saturday after they missed training for various reasons.
