As Ethan Mbappé approaches the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, talks with the club’s management were underway for a possible extension. However, the situation took a turn with the announcement of his brother Kylian Mbappé’s departure.

When reports revealed that Kylian intended to leave the French giants as a free agent and join Real Madrid, many wondered what would happen to Ethan. There were reports that the teenager could follow his brother to the Spanish giants.

Nonetheless, Kylian will be heading to the Spanish capital, so where does this leave Ethan? Defensa Central (h/t Foot01) reports that Los Blancos never seemed convinced of the 17-year-old’s potential.

According to the Spanish media outlet, the midfielder’s future won’t involve Real Madrid. The two brothers are clearly heading towards a separation this summer, but for their entourage, this isn’t necessarily bad news.

Taking different paths will allow Ethan to no longer be compared to the captain of the French national team. Thus, his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, aim to secure a first professional contract for the young talent at PSG.
