Earlier this week, Real Sociedad confirmed that Martin Zubimendi suffered a hamstring injury during training. It was initially thought that he could miss the remainder of the season, which would’ve been a massive blow for the Basque side in their pursuit of European qualification.

However, it’s now been reported by Relevo that Zubimendi should only miss – at most- two of La Real’s final five matches. He is definitely out for Saturday’s match against Las Palmas, and while he is also considered as a major doubt to face Barcelona the following weekend, he is expected to be back for the fixture with Valencia three days later.

Zubimendi is hopeful of an “express recovery” in the next 10 days, so that he can play a big part for Real Sociedad in the season run-in. It would also allow him to build up some match fitness ahead of Euro 2024, where he will be with Spain – barring any injury setbacks.
