Todd Boehly and his consortium are yet to even be officially confirmed as the new Chelsea owners, but already they are speaking to the players and staff at the club.

They know they will soon be in the hotseat and it’s just some final administrative details now before it’s officially signed off, and they have been at many recent Chelsea games. So of course, being there at Stamford Bridge, they are always going to try and speak to as many Blues players and staff as they can.

Seven alternative defensive midfielders to Rice and Tchouameni that Chelsea may look at.

As well as speaking to Thomas Tuchel recently, Todd Boehly has spoken to Reece James amongst others.

James has revealed the outcome of these brief talks, and it’s all very positive for Chelsea fans going forward.

The right-back insists that nothing will change at Chelsea and they will be getting an ambitious new owner who wants to win.

“The ambition is still going to be the same,” James said as reported by The Daily Mail. “We’re a massive club in the world and our aim is to win every trophy we can.

“I spoke to him [Todd Boehly] briefly. I know he’s passionate about the club, his aim is to win. We’re not just going to change to a club that’s participating… everyone that plays at this club is ambitious.  You’re playing at this club for a reason. The quality of players is so high. No matter the owner, we’re the ones that go out and perform on the pitch and next season we will have more competitions to play and hopefully get a few more trophies under our belt.”
