Renato Sanches, currently on loan at Roma from Paris Saint-Germain, has dropped a hint over his future on social media following reports that the Portuguese international could be set to cut short his stay at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 26-year-old has now changed his profile image on Instagram from a picture of him in the Giallorossi colours to a black circle, and has removed any mention of Roma from his bio section as well.

Sanches has struggled to make an impact for Roma since joining from PSG in August. To date, he has managed just 228 minutes across the team’s Serie A and Europa League outings, spread across nine appearances. His sole goal came in the 7-0 victory over Empoli in September.

Roma do have an obligation to purchase Sanches if certain conditions are met. One of those is believed to be based on appearances, specifically whether or not he plays over 60% of Roma’s matches this season.

If Roma were able to terminate his loan deal early, it would free up a valuable non-EU slot in the playing squad.
