David Luiz spent two seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, making 89 appearances for the capital while scoring eight goals and registering four assists during his time with the French giants.
This summer, the former PSG defender saw his contract expire with Arsenal FC and then took his time weighing his options before deciding that it was in his best interest to head home to Brazil and sign with Flamengo on a free transfer.
Luiz had offers from European clubs to remain in the old continent, including one from Olympique de Marseille. However, as Globoesporte reports, the 34-year-old decided to reject them for two reasons: his affectionate relationship with PSG and his ambition of playing for important trophies.
