Erling Haaland will, undoubtedly, be one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window, with countless top European sides fighting to win the battle for his signature. The Norwegian striker's contract with Borussia Dortmund continues through 2024, although he has a release clause that allows him to depart for a cost of €75 million in the summer of 2022.

Premier League duo Manchester City and Manchester United have joined Real Madrid in agreeing to pay the clause, while Barcelona have strongly been linked with Haaland but can't afford him, as recently reported. Unlike the Blaugrana, fellow German team, Bayern can afford to snatch him but aren't seen as a probable destination.

In the meantime, the Bundesliga side have already attempted to put pressure on their star player to sign a new contract. "Borussia Dortmund are pressuring me to make a choice. However, all I want to do is play football. That implies I will probably have to make a decision shortly", the 21-year-old stated in January. While he has been delaying the final decision on his future, the Black and Yellows have been working on his potential replacement ahead of next season.

Dortmund identify Erling Haaland's successor

Borussia Dortmund have agreed a five-year deal with Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi. Italian transfer-expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the German team are on the verge of securing the signature of the 19-year-old rising star, with only several details remaining to be ironed out.

It has been said that the Signal Iduna Park outfit have been working on the transfer for several months, and they are expected to pay the Austrian club a sum of €35 million in the summer. The German center-forward, who has racked up 18 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions, is tied to RB Salzburg until summer 2024.

In the 2020-21 season, he has scored three goals in the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League, while the youngster can boast of netting 14 times in 18 Austrian Bundesliga matches. In addition, he has already been capped three times in Germany's senior national team, scoring once.
