Lionel Messi will see his contract expire in June 2023, but as of now, the Argentine isn’t concerned about the future as the 35-year-old has his eyes on the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

As a result, Messi will make decisions regarding his future after the tournament. The Paris Saint-Germain forward wants to have his full attention with the Argentina national team, so any contract talks will have to wait.

Nonetheless, Le Parisien reported on Monday (h/t PSG Hub) that Messi isn’t against the idea of extending his spell in Paris. In addition, the French media outlet states that the veteran forward is much happier now with PSG.

The report out of France conflicts with what was recently said in the Spanish media, which reported that those within the MLS circles understand that Messi will return to FC Barcelona after leaving in 2021.

Despite both clubs wanting to win the Messi bid next summer, the player’s clan says there are no current offers from PSG or any other team. So Messi will play the waiting game, and at some point in the second half of the 2022-23 football season, he will likely make a decision.
