Report: Inter Miami CF close to signing Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain

David Beckham is very serious about turning his Inter Miami CF club into an MLS Cup contender, and he's close to acquiring yet another Juventus player.

According to ESPN's Jeff Carlisle, Inter Miami is "very close" to signing Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The 32-year-old is free to leave Juve after new manager Andrea Pirlo said the Argentinian is not in his future plans for the club.

If he joins Miami, Higuain will join former teammate Blaise Matuidi in Florida and his older brother, Frederico Higuain, who also plays in MLS with D.C. United. Matuidi joined Beckham's squad last month.

Higuain spent the majority of his career in both Spain and Italy, playing for Real Madrid and Juve, respectively. He also had stints with Napoli, Milan and Premier League side Chelsea.

Miami certainly could use Higuain's services, as they're just 1-0-6 on the season. Higuain has made 640 league and cup appearances at the club level, tallying 306 goals.
