Liverpool will travel to the Etihad Stadium to face rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday in a much-anticipated fixture after the international break.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that those players who represented their national teams over the past week will all return fit and healthy ahead of the clash with Pep Guardiola's team.

There was a scare for Klopp on Monday however when Kostas Tsimikas left the pitch in the 24th minute of Greece's draw with Lithuania with what appeared to be a rib injury.

The German is expected to update the media on Friday during his pre-match press conference on the latest in respect of injuries in his squad.

Whilst it appears that Luis Diaz has returned to training after a serious knee injury, according to David Lynch, the news is less positive regarding Thiago Alcantara.

Lynch reports that sources have told Football Insider that the Spaniard is still to return to training after he picked up a hip injury at the start of February.

Reports at the time suggested the 31-year-old would be out of action for around four weeks but it looks like he is still not ready and his availability for the trip to the Etihad must now be considered doubtful.
