Premier League side Everton signed Dele Alli on an initial free transfer but they are required to make certain payments to the North London club when certain clauses are fulfilled.

Apparently, Tottenham are due a payment of £10 million when the midfielder completes 20 appearances for the Premier League side. Everton currently going through financial difficulties and Tottenham have now offered to lower the payment to £8 million as per The Times.

However, it seems that Everton has now turned down the offer from Tottenham regarding the 27-year-old midfielder. Accepting Tottenham’s offer would have eased the financial burden on the Toffees.

Everton are now hoping to tweak the transfer agreement with Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether the North London outfit are prepared to oblige.

Everton have not been able to give Alli regular outings because of the transfer agreement. They are unwilling to pay £10 million to Tottenham by letting the midfielder make 20 appearances. Alli has already made 13 appearances for Everton this season.

The midfielder will be hoping to play more often in the coming months and he will hope that the two clubs can sort out the situation. The England international will be desperate to get his career back on track and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

He was regarded as a world-class talent when he joined Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino, but he has not been able to live up to the expectations in recent seasons.
