Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve its midfield, and the north London-based club took that first step this past summer when they landed Pape Matar Sarr from FC Metz. The 19-year-old remained with the French side until next season.

Nonetheless, it seems as though Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici wants to add another young player to the Tottenham midfielder. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs have their eyes on AS Roma midfielder Ebrima Darboe.

The 20-year-old has only made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side, and with his contract running out in 2023, Darboe might ponder his future in the Italian capital.

Darbie has made nine appearances overall, but the report states that Roma wants to extend the midfielder’s contract despite the lack of playing time.

It seems as though Paratici wants to buy low on a player while hoping a move to Tottenham can help see The Gambia international reach his potential.
