AC Milan are having some problems in resolving their right-back situation ahead of the start of the new season, according to a report.

Sportitalia (via MilanLive) report that the first obstacle is linked to the Rossoneri’s difficulties in closing a deal for a new right-back who would be the deputy to Davide Calabria. Talks with Manchester United over the return of Diogo Dalot are on hold for now as the English side are not keen on another loan, while Alvaro Odriozola of Real Madrid is the alternative.

However, there is another obstacle and that is the sale of Andrea Conti to Sampdoria. Massimo Ferrero’s club are in fact struggling to sell players no longer deemed suitable for their project and while Conti is one of the requests of new coach Roberto D’Aversa, it does not appear to be close at the moment.

The report cites Sampnews24 in claiming that the returns of De Paoli (from Benevento) and Murru (from Torino) from their respective loan spells is blocking incomings as they must first depart before a move for Conti can be contemplated.
