AC Milan and Inter have met with the Mayor of the city Beppe Sala to resume discussions over the new stadium project, but a further meeting will be needed.

According to Radio Rossonera, Mayor Sala met with representatives of the two clubs to continue talks over the construction of a new state of the art home. Sala understands the need of the teams to equip themselves with a new facility that allows them to return to compete at the highest international levels and intends to satisfy their wishes, they add.

However, the source adds that a solution must be identified that finds a way to better combine the environmental sustainability of the new urban development with the investment of the clubs, so the parties will get together again very soon to discuss that issue.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) goes one further and claims Sala will meet the clubs today. They hope that the project for the new stadium can finally be accelerated as the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri want to see the first stone laid by the beginning of 2022.
