The New England Revolution will buy out the contract of veteran Jozy Altidore, who has struggled to find his form with the club, multiple outlets reported Thursday.

An announcement is expected later this week.

"Can't confirm anything yet," Revolution sporting director/head coach Bruce Arena said Thursday, per The Boston Globe. "When we make those decisions, we will send out a release and statement regarding that. We haven't sent out anything yet on any player movements. We plan to do so, hopefully, by the end of the week."

Altidore, 33, has fought through injuries in the latter half of his MLS career, and he wasn't in top physical shape during his time with the club, Arena said, per the report.

Altidore began his pro career at age 16 playing under Arena with the New York Red Bulls against the Revolution in 2006. He has played 203 MLS games (140 starts) with the Red Bulls (2006-08), Toronto FC (2015-21) and Revolution. In more than 12,700 minutes of playing time, he's logged 79 goals and 25 assists.

He won the 2017 MLS Cup with Toronto. In the playoffs, he's added nine goals and four assists in 17 matches (16 starts).

In all, he's played for 10 teams in seven countries, including a transfer at age 18 to Villarreal in Spain. He finished last season with Puebla FC in Liga MX on loan from the Revolution.

Back in New England this season, he has one goal in 10 appearances (one start).

In international play with the U.S. Men's National Team, Altidore has 115 caps. His 42 goals are third all-time for the U.S.

The Revolution are 8-3-6 (30 points) and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
