Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been speaking out ahead of the Club World Cup that starts next month in America.

The big news comes after Chelsea finally secured their qualification to play Champions League football next season on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.

EXCL: Chelsea will try to sign new goalkeeper this summer with names revealed as main targets – huge name here!

The Blues had to win this game to secure it, and they managed a 1-0 away win against Nottingham Forest to provide scenes of celebrations amongst the Blues players and staff yesterday evening. And in by doing this, Chelsea also set a brand new record in football!

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was so pleased with making the Champions League that he took the opportunity to swear at all of his critics across the season by telling them all to F off!!

Club World Cup pros and cons

It’s obviously an exciting competition for clubs and players to be involved in, competing against the best in the world. Clubs will take it seriously as well because there is a lot of prize money on offer.

But for the players, it means they get very little rest this summer and that rest is vital for mental health and physical condition. So that bit does concern me – they play a lot already as it is without yet another summer competition.

Fernandez on the CWC

As cited on X, Fernandez said on the CWC:

“My first Club World Cup, happy to be playing in it and representing Chelsea. It’s going to be beautiful. I hope we can bring joy to the people who join us.

“It’s a very important competition, and we’re going to do our best and arrive with the best energy possible.”
