Franck Ribery has left Salernitana and could be appointed as a youth coach at Bayern Munich next season reports Sky Sport Italia.

Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio reports Ribery has refused to join Stefano Colantuono’s staff for the last nine games of the season and has remained in Germany with his family.

Ribery had been part of Salernitana’s staff since his retirement in 2022. He spent the final season of his playing career at the Stadio Arechi.

The former France international scored five goals in 74 Serie A appearances as a footballer, playing for Fiorentina and Salernitana.

According to Sky, Ribery may be appointed as a youth team coach by his former club Bayern Munich in 2024-25.

Salernitana appointed Colantuono to replace Fabio Liverani on Tuesday. Colantuono returns to the Stadio Arechi for the third time in his career and is the fourth coach hired by the Granata in 2023-24.

Salernitana sit rock bottom of the Serie A table and their next match is away at Bologna on April 1.
