Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is backing coach Daniele de Rossi to stay long-term.

The midfielder scored in last night's Europa League play-off win against Feyenoord, which Roma triumphed in penalties.

Pellegrini told Sky Italia: "I'm very satisfied, this match could have been a crossroads. We've shown excellent things this month, we have to start from here. We can believe it.

"This comes from the journey we have made in recent years, with many matches in Europe. A nice thing to give to these people, who made us feel not just at home but much more. We work to always improve ourselves."

On De Rossi, he also said: "I think I owe him my 150% in training and in matches. Our relationship is born from a respect that goes beyond and will always be like this. I think he will be Roma's coach for a long time, for what he is showing.

"Maybe there was need to start again from something and he is much more than something. He makes the choices and I respect them: what is certain is that I will always give everything for Roma."
