Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini says there's no excuses after defeat at Hellas Verona.

It means Roma have a point after their first two games of the season.

Pellegrini said, "The data is clear, there's something to improve and we'll work starting tomorrow. It's not possible to score one point in two games, Friday will already be important. We always try to give our best, we will try to solve the problems as soon as possible.

"The coach, the staff and we only think about working and doing our best. Today was a bad match, we have to analyse the mistakes but there have been improvements.

"Coming back is never easy, from the pitch it seemed like we could do it even after conceding two goals in the first half. We had to score three in the second half, we pushed and tried but in the end the episodes make the difference.

"If had my free-kick come in it would have been the 2-2 goal and maybe we would have even scored the 3-2. We shot 26 times against their 5..."
