Legendary former Roma captain Francesco Totti feels that even with Napoli’s significant lead at the top of the Serie A table, none of Inter, AC Milan, or Juventus can be ruled out of the title race.

Speaking while at the Global Soccer Awards, as reported by FCInterNews, Totti was keen to stress that the Scudetto race is not yet over and that the teams behind the Partenopei are all more than capable of catching up.

The pace that Napoli have set at the start of the current season has made it look as though they will be very difficult to catch indeed.

However, all of Inter, Milan, and Juventus would need just a few results to go their way to find themselves suddenly within touching distance of the league leaders.

There will be 23 matches left to play once Serie A resumes following the World Cup.

In this time, the title race could come down not just to whether or not Napoli can sustain their current pace for the season, but also on whether any of the teams behind them can really pick things up.

Totti, for one, backs them to.

“This season Napoli are really going beyond expectations, they’re doing something extraordinary, if they continue like this, the chances for the others would be minimal,” Totti said.

“But Milan, Inter, and Juve never give up, it will be a title race that goes right to the end.”

“And then the World Cup break is yet another thing to factor in,” he added.
