Roma legend Francesco Totti is happy seeing Daniele de Rossi succeed as Giallorossi coach.

De Rossi is yet to taste defeat in Serie A since taking charge in January.

Totti said at a Bentsson event: "Did I expect De Rossi like this from the start? No, but I hoped so. In addition to being a great coach, and he's proving it, he's a great friend of mine. I and all the Roma fans hoped he could start his journey so well, I wish him to continue at this level because Roma is a particular place, a bit difficult.

"(He had )the fortune of knowing Roma, the fans and the club. He is bringing all this together to ensure that the players can perform on the pitch with maximum tranquility and maximum transparency."

On captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, he also said: "After me and after Daniele it wasn't easy to find another captain. I already said that he was a real captain, from Rome. Fortunately he is proving his worth, he's physically well and he can do everything. Let's hope that this captain can last as long as possible."
