Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli believes that his former club AC Milan will bounce back from their difficult moment after his side ran out 4-0 winners last night.

For the third game in a row Milan found themselves two goals down at half-time, with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Mattia Zaccagni each scoring in the first half to give the Rossoneri a real mountain to climb in the capital.

Any hopes of a comeback were destroyed when a penalty was converted by Luis Alberto and then a fourth from Felipe Anderson condemned Milan to a hiding which continues a dreadful start to 2023.

Romagnoli spoke to Sky Italia after the game to reflect on what was a very positive evening for him with a clean sheet and for Lazio who secured a massive win, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

What is your impression of seeing Milan like this? “We dominated, we deservedly won. Milan are always a strong team that will definitely come back.”

Is there any regret for lost points? “We lost a few points, but the season is long. Now every match will be fundamental. We have to be like this, play as a team and do our best.”

On Lazio’s defence: “The work we do starts first with the forwards. We always work on the defensive phase, we build up a good platform.”
