Romelu Lukaku scored four goals as Belgium concluded their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with a 5-0 home win over Azerbaijan on Sunday.

All four of Lukaku's goals came in the first 37 minutes of the match.

Three of them arrived after Azerbaijan midfielder Eddy Israfilov had been shown a red card midway through the first half.

Lukaku was substituted off at half-time before Leandro Trossard completed the scoring in the 90th minute.

Belgium won Euro 2024 Qualifying Group F with 20 points from eight games, after scoring 22 goals and conceding just four.

Lukaku was responsible for 14 of those goals as he set a new record for the highest-scoring Euros qualifying campaign ever.

Sunday's four-goal haul also saw Lukaku jump up to joint-seventh on the all-time list of leading scorers in men's international soccer.

Lukaku had been tied with Brazil legend Neymar and former Zambia forward Godfrey Chitalu on 79 goals before the weekend.

As well as moving clear of those two players on Sunday, Lukaku leapfrogged Poland star Robert Lewandowski on the list.

Lukaku is now level with UAE striker Ali Mabkhout on 83 goals.

The only players with more goals than Lukaku in the history of men's international soccer are Ferenc Puskas (84), Mokhtar Dahari (89), Sunil Chhetri (93), Lionel Messi (106), Ali Daei (108) and Cristiano Ronaldo (128).
