Pippo Inzaghi is set to be rehired by Salernitana just weeks after his sacking.

Fabio Liverani is to be axed after failing to arrest their run of poor results, with AC Milan legend Inzaghi due to come back, says TMW.

Salernitana chief exec Maurizio Milan said: "We will open a very quick reflection in the next few hours, we have decided, together with president Iervolino, to stop any public interview by our members. That's why I'm here.

"The disappointment speaks clearly for what it was seen on the pitch and that derives from a very broad observation: with the January signings we thought we had revitalized the team but instead it was not revitalized at all.

"There is great regret and disappointment for what happened in the last month and obviously in the last matches."
