Salernitana signed Israeli striker Shon Weissman from Granada on the transfer deadline, while Jerome Boateng can arrive tomorrow as a free agent.

The contract was literally deposited in the final moments before the window shut in Italy at 19.00 GMT.

Weissman had been on the verge of joining Spezia in Serie B earlier in the evening when he suddenly backed out of the transfer.

Salernitana director Walter Sabatini dived into action and managed to complete the deal in record time.

They were also able to get the international transfer paperwork completed and registered with seconds to spare.

Weissman has arrived on loan from Granada, having scored one goal in six competitive games this season.

Salernitana had also been in talks with Cagliari for Eldor Shomurodov, who is on loan from Roma, but that did not go through.

The window is closed, but not for free agents, so Salernitana have plenty of time to register Boateng as a free agent later this week.
