Juventus are the last serious contenders in Serie A for Lazar Samardzic and there may be a way to snatch the Udinese starlet on a free transfer in the summer.

It’s been an interesting 12 months for the 22-year-old Serbian midfielder, who initially looked to be just a step away from signing for Inter last summer before everything collapsed regarding agent commissions. In January, Napoli tried to make a move, but they couldn’t find a deal with the Friulian side.

Despite the transfer market noise and disastrous form at Udinese, Samardzic has continued to impress this season in Serie A, scoring four goals and providing two assists across 29 matches, being one of the few bright spots of the campaign for his club.

Samardzic opportunity

Francesco Guerrieri of Calciomercato.com details how Juventus have the chance to pick up Samardzic on a free transfer in the summer due to a clause in his contract with Udinese. The 22-year-old is allowed to leave should the club suffer relegation to Serie B.

The Serbian midfielder would like to stay in Italy and has made the Old Lady his priority ahead of the summer transfer window, keen on the idea of joining friends Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz in Turin.
