The mother of coach Maurizio Sarri, Clementina, sadly passed away today, prompting an outpouring of support from his former clubs.
The 65-year-old Italian tactician is currently out of work following the end of his three years in charge of Lazio, unexpectedly resigning last month. Since his departure, he’s attracted a lot of attention from a long list of clubs, including Milan, Spartak Moscow, Nottingham Forest and more.
Sarri is expected to return to a new Serie A club in the summer, with a strong candidate being Fiorentina. The Florence outfit are preparing to lose Vincenzo Italiano and some reports suggested the former Lazio boss would be keen for the job, wanting to live close to his hometown in Tuscany.

His mother Clementina sadly passed away on Monday, earning an outpouring of support from the coach’s former clubs.
Lazio shared their condolences for the 65-year-old Italian coach and his family, writing: “President Claudio Lotito, the management, the team and the entire S.S. Lazio express their closeness to Maurizio Sarri for the passing of his beloved mother Clementina and join in the condolences of his family.”
Napoli followed suit, saying: “President Aurelio De Laurentiis, the managers, the technical staff, the team and the entire SSC Napoli share in the pain of Maurizio Sarri and his family for the passing of his dear mother Clementina.”
