Serie A line-ups: Inter vs. Salernitana

Inter keep squad rotation to a minimum ahead of the Champions League, as Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram start against a Salernitana side making their debut under new coach Fabio Liverani with Jerome Boateng.

The first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Atletico Madrid is on Tuesday, but Simone Inzaghi is not going overboard with squad rotation, even though a win here would put them 10 points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

Only the wingbacks are changed, with Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Augusto coming in, while Davide Frattesi returns to the bench after a muscular injury.

Thuram and Lautaro Martinez continue to lead the way upfront, though Francesco Acerbi and Juan Cuadrado are out injured in defence and will miss the Atleti clash too.

Salernitana sacked Pippo Inzaghi this week, so there will be no meeting of the brothers on the touchline.

Liverani is their third coach of the season after Inzaghi and Paulo Sousa, facing an uphill struggle with his team rock bottom and already seven points adrift of safety.

Domagoj Bradaric is suspended, with Federico Fazio, Niccolò Pierozzi, Lorenzo Pirola and Norbert Gyomber injured.

Veteran Jerome Boateng is not at 100 per cent, but starts anyway, with former Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas on the bench awaiting his debut.

Antonio Candreva faces his former club supporting Boulaye Dia and Loum Tchaouna.
