Toronto FC winger Federico Bernardeschi has been offered to the top clubs in Italy and could make a last-minute move back to Serie A on transfer deadline day.

The January transfer window is now starting to draw to a close, with less than 72 hours remaining until the window closes on Thursday February 1 at 19.00 UK time. A number of Serie A sides are now rushing to complete some business before the deadline passes.

Bernardeschi is desperate to return to Serie A this month, wanting to impress Italy coach Luciano Spalletti ahead of the European Championship in the summer. Last season with Toronto did not go well, with the Italian winger scoring just five goals and providing two assists across 33 total games.

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto told Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Bernardeschi is not a priority for any of the Serie A clubs he’s been offered to in recent weeks, including Juventus, Lazio, Roma and Milan.

Despite this, everything could change in the closing hours of the transfer window, and he could finally get his return to Serie A on deadline day, being a low-cost and low-risk option for the clubs.
