Manchester United are one of several clubs reportedly interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov.

According to the Standard, United are one of four Premier League clubs monitoring the playmaker ahead of a potential transfer in the summer.

The other clubs include Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City.

It is suggested that Shakhtar officials have been in London this week as they plan for the summer transfer window.

Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin said: “This summer window, he has a big chance to move to some big clubs.

“We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment.

“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer. When I was at Chelsea versus Everton on Monday, many people asked me about Sudakov.”

Ukraine international won’t be cheap

Sudakov is allegedly valued at £60 million but it remains to be seen how much money United will have to spend in the summer. The 21-year-old can play out wide as well as in central positions.

Nizaar Kinsella reports: “Napoli had a £34m bid for Sudakov, who has 14 Ukraine caps, rejected in January and did not match the £43m counter offer from Shakhtar, which did not include potential add-ons.”

The midfielder has seven goals and three assists to his name in all competitions, but only time will tell if he’ll get the chance to make a name for himself in the Premier League.

Ten Hag will look to strengthen several areas in his team this summer. From defence to attack, our new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe must see that the squad needs investment.

The level of recruitment at United over the past 10 years has been shockingly bad. Ineos will want to change that by hiring the right staff and signing players whom fit into a team they want to build for the future.
