Everton have had many changes throughout their previous two fixtures, where goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has stayed steady in the league while Joao Virginia has got the nod for cup games. Defenders James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko have remained in place for both competitions, with Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson rotating at right back.

Doucoure, previously described as a “shining light,” and Gomes are both confirmed to be out for the weekend, with the latter picking up a calf injury in training throughout the week. Coleman is out, as is Ashley Young, leaving a lack of options throughout the wingback positions.
