Slovenia coach Matjaž Kek is ‘not surprised’ by Milan and European clubs’ interest in Benjamin Sesko and explains why any team that will sign him ‘will make a bargain.’

Slovenia coach Kek said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport that Milan target Sesko would be a ‘bargain’ for any club.

“He is a modern striker. I don’t know where he will play, but I will surely enjoy him this summer,” said the 62-year-old.

“He is physically strong, technically gifted and mature. There aren’t many strikers like this in the world. I think he has steadily improved, becoming more concrete in his decisions. Another quality he has is the pace.”

The latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims Milan are ready to offer €50m for the striker’s signature while his agents were in Milan on Friday.

Slovenia coach: Sesko would be ‘a bargain’ amid Milan and Arsenal transfer rumours

Kek was asked if Sesko would be a good fit for Milan.

“It’s not a question for me,” he replied.

“Let me explain: I am happy with how he is growing at Leipzig and in general, his evolution as a footballer. This is why he is becoming increasingly important to Slovenia as well.

“The point is whether he will change club. All I can say is that whoever signs him will make a bargain. Sesko does not disappoint.”

Can he imagine an attack with Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Sesko?

“I know where he can get, and I can say that Benjamin is a humble boy, respectful and with an incredible desire to improve,” insisted his national team coach.

“He doesn’t leave the pitch if he hasn’t completed the workout. I am not surprised Milan and other European clubs are interested.”

RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly gave the green light to his signing. Is Sesko similar to Ibra as a footballer?

“He is a 20-year-old striker who is taking giant steps in European football,” Kek replied.

“I hope he remains like this. To compare him to other strikers is not correct.”

Sesko will play in the Euros with Slovenia in the summer, and Arsenal are also among the clubs interested in the RB Leipzig forward.

Sesko has scored 16 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.
