Free-agent forward Brittany Ratcliffe agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Washington Spirit on Thursday.

Financial terms were not disclosed for Ratcliffe, who signed with the North Carolina Courage in May 2021 and remained with the club through the 2023 season.

"I've always admired the professionalism of the Spirit organization and it's been cool to see (Spirit majority owner) Michele Kang and the club do great things for the players both on and off the field," Ratcliffe said. "(Spirit president of soccer operations) Mark Krikorian and the staff have been awesome through this entire process and the team is made up of really incredible players who I cannot wait to meet."

Ratcliffe, 29, appeared in nine matches (five starts) last season with the Courage. She previously played with the Boston Breakers, FC Kansas City and Utah Royals.
