Tottenham are all set to battle it out with Liverpool for the services of Omar Marmoush.

The North London club are looking to sign a new number nine ahead of next season. Ange Postecoglou wants a top-quality forward who can guarantee goals to help his side take the next step and Omar Marmoush is one of the names on their wishlist.

But, according to a report from Bild, Spurs will have to compete with Liverpool for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker.

Spurs decided against signing a replacement for Harry Kane after he left the club last summer. They have coped well with the absence of the club’s all-time top scorer as Postecoglou has used Son Heung-min and Richarlison up top.

While scoring goals has not been a problem for the North London club, the Australian manager is still keen on adding a new number nine. He wants to add more goals to his squad and have the freedom to use Son on the left as well as in a central role. As a result, they are pushing for the signature of Marmoush.

Since making the move to Frankfurt last summer, the 25-year-old has featured in 39 matches across competitions and has contributed towards 22 goals (16 goals, 6 assists). His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.

The North London club are keen on his signature as they look for a new number nine but they will face competition from Liverpool who are preparing for a new era under Arne Slot who is all set to take over from Jurgen Klopp. Darwin Nunez has failed to score goals consistently and therefore Liverpool are looking at alternatives.

The Reds already have a lot of quality in their attack but they feel Marmoush could be a great addition to their ranks. Meanwhile, reports suggest the player dreams of playing in the English top flight. While his deal runs until the summer of 2027 and Frankfurt have no intentions of parting ways with the 25-year-old, they will consider offers of around €50 million.
