Marcos Antonio did not train with his Lazio teammates yesterday due to a possible calf issue but tests ruled out injury.

The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder has struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season following his arrival in the summer, still needing time to adapt to the tactical system and increased pace of the Italian league. Marcos Antonio proved his qualities at Shakhtar Donetsk and seems to be a top talent in Sarri’s team.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Marcos Antonio did not train at Formello yesterday due to a left calf problem, leaving Lazio concerned.

He underwent a round of medical tests in the afternoon which ruled out injury and he’s not expected to miss the upcoming match against Atalanta. Marcos Antonio is set to return to training either today or tomorrow and will likely join the squad for the clash in Bergamo.

Lazio recently lost talismanic striker Ciro Immobile to a hamstring issue and the club are anxious of losing any more players to injury in this busy period of the season.
