The Oscar Bobb cameo appearance against Fulham showed the world what Manchester City have already known about the prodigiously talented youngster. City’s Academy graduate made his Premier League debut in City’s 5-1 win.

Oscar Bobb’s immense talent was already known throughout Manchester City. He has been a key part of City’s Academy success in recent seasons. Bobb starred last season in the PL2 with 8 goals and 18 assists in all competitions. He was a key part of the City side clinching a third successive PL2 title. His playmaking and dribbling ability was a key asset as Manchester City surged to yet another title.

Those attributes shone in his Premier League debut against Fulham. Bobb’s dribbling ability and passing were on full display. It was Bobb’s ability to beat two Fulham opponents that set up Erling Haaland’s third against the Cottagers. It was a mesmerizing bit of skill from the youngster. The passage of play showed exactly why the treble winners have been so keen to get the youngster amongst the first-team set-up this season.

Manchester City under-21 coach Brian Barry-Murphy isn’t expecting Bobb to return to the EDS side. In an interview with Manchester Evening News, he said: “We haven’t seen him. I’d imagine he doesn’t want to see us! It’s good for him to separate himself from us and develop as a first-team player. We want him to be like that and show what he can do.”

Whilst it was only a cameo from Oscar Bobb, it was a promising start to his first-team career. There will be more minutes and tougher tests for the young Norwegian, but he’s already shown in 6 minutes that he’s capable at the top level.
